THE VALLEYS OF MANCURA

For Viña Mancura, preserving the Chilean wine heritage is one of its main objectives, and for this, it has selected terroirs from the best valleys of Chile to carry out its lines, with which it expresses all its experience and knowledge in wine production. of the New World.

Mancura is a winery that seeks, above all, to preserve the Chilean wine heritage. And that is why, through its wines, it pays homage to the roots, traditions and origins of Chile. Even its name pays tribute to the mythological character of the condor in the Andes, who, according to legend, appears in the heights of the mountains bringing with him the sun and the freshness of the sea, which allows one of the best conditions in the world. to produce high quality wines.

This is how, following this legend, Mancura is concerned with producing high-quality wines at an affordable price, which reflect our country and its nature. Wines that reach consumers who want to deliver a better world to future generations.

Mancura and its valleys

Internationally recognized for being one of the most outstanding terroirs in our country to produce varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the Limarí Valley has a climate that favors clear skies, high UV radiation and cool winds thanks to the marine influence, as well as mineral soils that provide unique characteristics such as acidity and incomparable aromas.

The brand’s Brut sparkling wine comes from this area, made according to the Charmat method, which stands out for being fruity, with good body and great freshness.

Another valley where Mancura wines come from is the Casablanca Valley, which is nestled between the Coastal Range and the Pacific Ocean, about 80 km from Santiago, in central Chile. Its status as a “cold climate valley” has given it excellent recognition, which translates into ideal conditions for growing red varieties such as Pinot Noir and Syrah and white varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

With clay soils, poor in organic matter and high permeability and drainage, and a coastal climate with cool sea breezes and early morning mists, the Casablanca Valley was discovered a little over 30 years ago by Pablo Morandé who saw the incredible potential from the area and decided to plant the first Sauvignon Blanc vines.

From this area are Mito Chardonnay/Viognier, as well as Andino Syrah/ Cabernet Franc/Merlot.

The Vuelo Mágico lines and the Etnia reds come from the Maipo Valley. This valley is characterized for being one of the most recognized wine regions in Chile and has earned its good reputation for the excellent production of red vine wines.

This area, located at the foot of the Andes Mountain and on the north bank of the Maipo River, has mineral-rich, sandy-clayey soils with good permeability. Its climate is stable, Mediterranean with dry and hot summers and cold and humid winters.

Finally, the Maule Valley, the largest wine-growing region in our country, has a mainly Mediterranean climate, with a great influence of cold winds from the Andes Mountain, which increases the daily thermal oscillation and reduces the period of temperatures maximum, helping the ripening of the fruit in good conditions.

Its soils are mostly of granitic origin, which have been formed by the decomposition of granitic rocks over millions of years. It is these conditions, of climate and soil, that make red and white vines find in the Maule Valley, particularly in the interior and coastal dry land, the ideal terroir to settle.

The Guardian line comes from this valley, wines that are made mainly with heritage vines such as the País, Carignan and Cinsault vines. Wines that stand out for their fruit, structure and great quality.
