Viña Mancura renews its certification under the Sustainability Code of the Chilean Wine Industry

Viña Mancura, part of Morandé Wine Group (MWG), has just renewed its certification under the Sustainability Code of the Chilean Wine Industry, valid until 2028. The group has successfully certified its companies in all main areas of the Code since the early years of the initiative, back in 2011, reaffirming its commitment to responsible and sustainable practices within the sector.

The certification covers three key areas: the sustainable management of vineyards (green area), operations in the winery and bottling plant (red area), and social responsibility, including workplace safety, employee well-being, community engagement, and customer care (orange area). The enotourism area, although part of the original scope, does not apply to Mancura, as the group does not operate in that segment.

But Mancura’s commitment to sustainability goes far beyond this certification. Through a partnership with Climeworks — a Swiss leader in direct air carbon capture, trusted by global companies such as TikTok, LEGO, and British Airways — the winery committed to removing 10% of its historical CO₂ emissions within six years, while also setting a target to reduce annual emissions by 5% until reaching carbon neutrality.

Additionally, Mancura adopts low-impact packaging solutions such as lighter bottles and kraft cardboard boxes, significantly reducing the winery’s environmental footprint.

At Mancura, sustainability isn’t a statement — it’s a daily commitment to the planet and to future generations.
